BCCWITT Career Advancement Bursary
The BCCWITT Career Advancement Bursary provides funding for equity priority tradespeople of all genders, including tradespeople who are Indigenous, people of colour, 2SLGBTIAQ+, immigrants, people with disabilities, and women, in British Columbia, who are facing barriers in advancing in their trades journey, to help them access training, certifications, networking, and educational opportunities.

HOW MUCH FUNDING IS AVAILABLE?
Bursaries are for amounts up to $1000
CAN I APPLY FOR MULTIPLE BURSARIES?
Each applicant can only be approved for one bursary per fiscal year (April 1st – March 31st).
WHAT IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
- Tools, equipment, or clothing required for advancing your skilled trades career
- Course, workshop, testing, or conference registration fees
- Costs to attend a course, workshop, conference, or test, such as:
- Accommodation
- Travel
- Wage Loss
- Child or elder care
- Educational materials like textbooks or code books
- Other things that are standing in the way of your success!

WHAT IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
Any expenses previously incurred for career advancement are inelligble for reimbursement. Bursaries can only be approved for upcoming expenses due AFTER the submission of this application.

The BCCWITT Project Grant provides seed funding for Leaders in Trades (LIT) program participants to organize, coordinate, and host initiatives that promote skilled trades careers to youth and equity priority people of all genders across British Columbia. This includes community members who are Indigenous, people of colour, 2SLGBTIAQ+, immigrants, people with disabilities, and women, and will help recruit people from these groups to the skilled trades sector in BC.
WHAT IS “SEED FUNDING”?
The funding provided by a BCCWITT Project Grant is not intended to be the full amount needed to complete a project, but rather to be enough to encourage other donors to support the project.
HOW MUCH FUNDING IS AVAILABLE?
Grants range in size from $500 to $5000
CAN I APPLY FOR MULTIPLE GRANTS?
Each LIT participant can only be approved for one grant per fiscal year (April 1st – March 31st).
WHAT PROJECTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?
- Interactive hands-on trade skills workshops
- Trades-themed youth day camps
- Production of skilled trades promotion materials such as…
- a calendar,
- stickers,
- or colouring books
- Networking events for connecting tradespeople with community members
- Learning opportunities for youth and equity priority people of all genders across British Columbia, including people who are Indigenous, people of colour, 2SLGBTIAQ+, immigrants, people with disabilities, and women
