WITT Wednesdays: Building connections and skills across BC trades
BCCWITT is excited to be launching WITT Wednesdays!
As an organization that operates as a bit of a hub, we are grateful to support a wide network of frontline tradeswomen and gender-diverse trades workers, employers, stakeholders, and other allies. And we want to build on that by actively working to increase those connections, to build up our shared skills and knowledge, and to continue to do vital advocacy work around issues affecting us all.
That’s where WITT Wednesdays come in! While we know the work happens every day across this province, on Wednesdays we’re making an extra effort to help build connections and skills, and to celebrate the amazing community of people across BC who are making the trades a better place to work.
Training and Webinars
Thanks to a number of partnerships we’re grateful to be part of, we will be offering FREE virtual training to BC workers in the trades—some will be targeted specifically to support women and gender-diverse folks, others will be available to all allies and interested parties.
Here are a few of the ones we’re starting 2026 off with:
SHARP Workplaces training
- Sexual harassment awareness and intervention training (open to people of all genders). Sessions are virtual and in-person, learn more here: bccwitt.ca/SHARP
CRA Benefits and Credits for Tradespeople
- Free, virtual Intro to Taxes and Credits for Tradespeople webinar on Wednesday March 4th from 2:30 – 4pm. Register today to join us and find out how to get the most out of your returns.
Monthly Meetups
Monthly meetups are coming back! Get ready to join your fellow women and gender-diverse tradies for a social, virtual meetup series to talk about work, address timely issues, share resources, build mentorship opportunities, and more. Check back soon on ways you can engage in this community-centered work.
Celebrating community
You’re doing hard work to build your careers and your communities…and that deserves to be celebrated! Watch our social feeds on Wednesdays as we honour people at all points in their careers who represent the changing face of the trades in BC.
The BC Centre for Women in the Trades’ office is located on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) territories.
